HALO PROPRIETARY PERSONAL-USE LICENSE
License identifier: LicenseRef-Halo-Personal-Use
Effective for covered material from 21 October 2026.
1. Scope and ownership
These terms apply only to original Halo implementation code, original artwork
and other material owned by the Halo rights holders, or which they are
authorized to offer on these terms ("Covered Material"). They do not claim
ownership of third-party material, compatibility interfaces, or historical
versions. This file is a scoped license grant, not proof of independent
authorship or legal clearance of the combined application.
2. Personal access
An authorized purchaser or tester may install and use Covered Material for
their own use under the access term granted to their Halo account. Access is
personal and non-transferable; an account or copy is not a resale license.
A lifetime purchase has no recurring fee. Subscription access lasts for its
paid entitlement term, including any expressly granted renewal/grace period.
Neither purchase transfers ownership of Covered Material.
Each lifetime purchase or subscription authorizes one natural person only,
not a shared seat, household, team, reseller or pool of users. You must not
lend, rent, sell, transfer or share that access or its credentials. Device
binding and approved rebinding are access controls for the same authorized
person; rebinding does not transfer the license to another person. These
restrictions do not override the component rights preserved in section 4.
Unless expressly authorized otherwise, access is limited to the currently
bound computer. An approved rebind replaces that computer's authorization;
it does not create a second seat or permit another person to use the account.
3. Redistribution and resale
Except where mandatory law or another applicable license permits otherwise,
you may not sell, sublicense, redistribute, publish, share or provide copies
of Covered Material, modified/cracked builds of it, or account credentials
to another person without written permission from the relevant Halo rights
holders. These restrictions apply to Covered Material only.
4. Third-party and existing-license priority
Separately licensed libraries, fonts, game/loader interfaces and third-party
material retain their respective licenses. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, the
licenses directory and notices inside bundled components.
Nothing in these terms limits rights granted by MIT, Apache, BSD, OFL, LGPL,
GPL, the JavaFX Classpath exception, or another applicable third-party license.
If any retained material remains covered by GPL or another prior license,
that license governs that material and any combined work to the extent it
requires; these terms do not override it or assert it was relicensed.
Required source, modification, debugging, replacement/relinking, redistribution
and notice rights for such components are not conditioned on a Halo account.
Where component terms conflict with these terms, component terms prevail
for the affected material and any legally required wider scope.
5. Previous versions and archives
Valid prior license grants are not revoked retroactively. Previously GPL-
covered versions, contributions and recoverable provenance archives retain
their applicable rights. The preserved GPL text is licenses/GPL-3.0.txt;
its inclusion is not a claim that GPL permissions have been withdrawn.
6. Mandatory rights and warranty
Covered Material is provided without warranties to the extent permitted by
law. Mandatory consumer, statutory, interoperability, cancellation and other
rights are unaffected. These terms do not establish a blanket no-refund rule,
authorize collection of personal information, or override a separate privacy
or billing obligation. No exclusion applies where prohibited by law.
7. No whole-work clearance representation
Technical source audits and replacement records are engineering evidence.
They are not a copyright-holder assignment, clean-room certification or a
legal determination that the combined client can be sold without third-party
conditions. Commercial release must honor all applicable rights and licenses.
